Getting Started

What is REDZONEPicks.app?

A straightforward NFL pick'em site: pick the winner of every game each week, compare picks and scores against everyone else in your pool, and climb the standings. No fantasy rosters, no salary caps - just weekly picks and bragging rights.

Is this gambling?

No. REDZONEPicks.app is for entertainment purposes only and doesn't process any money. If your pool collects an entry fee, that's arranged directly between your commissioner and your group, entirely outside the site - REDZONEPicks.app never handles payments.

What does it cost to use REDZONEPicks.app?

Nothing. Creating a pool, joining a pool, and playing all season (including the playoffs) is free.
Joining a Pool & Your Account

How do I join a pool?

Ask your commissioner for the pool's join code, then use the “Already have a pool code?” box on the home page, or go to Pools ▾ → Join a Pool and enter it there.

Can I be in more than one pool?

Yes - one account can belong to as many pools as you like. Switch between them anytime under Pools ▾ → My Pools.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

There's currently no self-service password reset - use the Help ▾ menu to contact your commissioner or Contact Website Support and we'll help sort it out.

Why is a pool asking me for my phone number or mailing address?

Some commissioners require extra contact info (name, phone, mailing address, or a custom question) before you can join, usually to help coordinate a prize or a payout. It's set per pool and entirely up to your commissioner - most pools don't require anything beyond an entry name.
Making Picks & Deadlines

How do I make my picks?

Open your pool, pick a winner for every game on that week's pick sheet (Quick Pick buttons fill in the whole week fast), and save. Some pool formats also ask you to rank your confidence, flag a few “key” picks, or spend a limited pool of high-value picks - see “How is my pool scored?” below.

When do my picks lock?

It depends on how your commissioner has set up Pick Deadlines: every game can lock individually at its own kickoff (the most common setup), the whole week can lock all at once when the first game kicks off, the whole week can lock at the last game's kickoff, or the commissioner can set one fixed day/time every week. Check your pool's Written Rules or ask your commissioner which one applies.

What happens if I miss the deadline on a game?

If your commissioner has Autopicks turned on, an automatic pick is filled in for you right at lock (so you're never left with a totally empty game). If Autopicks is off, that game simply scores as a miss.

Can other players see my picks before kickoff?

No. Every pick stays hidden from everyone except you (and your commissioner) until that specific game locks - so nobody can see your pick and copy it at the last second.

Can I change a pick after I've already submitted it?

Yes, anytime up until that game locks. Once it's locked, it's locked - even for you.
Practice Mode & Preseason

What is Practice Mode?

Before the real season kicks off, preseason weeks are open as a practice area - a chance to try the pick sheet, tiebreaker, and key picks with zero pressure. Nothing you do there touches real standings, and the practice invite disappears on its own the moment the real Week 1 begins.
Standings & Scoring

How is my pool scored?

Your commissioner picks one of four formats for the whole pool: Standard (1 point per correct pick), Confidence Points (rank every game and assign it a unique point value - your most confident pick is worth the most, so a wrong “high confidence” pick costs the most too), Key Picks (flag a set number of picks each week as your most confident ones for bonus points on top of the normal score), or Capped Point Values (a small, limited pool of extra-high point values you spread across your best picks each week).

What does “against the spread” mean?

If your commissioner has this turned on, a pick only counts as correct if that team covered the point spread - not just won the game outright.

What's the tiebreaker for?

It breaks ties in the standings using a guess on one game each week (usually the last game of the week) - either the combined final score, the winning margin, or a custom guess your commissioner sets up, depending on the pool's tiebreaker type.

How are season standings figured?

By default, every week counts. Your commissioner can instead scope season standings to a specific window (say, the first half of the season, or Wild Card through the Super Bowl for a playoffs-only race) and/or count only each player's best N weeks, dropping their worst ones.

What happens if a game gets canceled or postponed?

Depends on your commissioner's setting - either everyone gets credit for that game as if it were a tie, or it's simply treated as a missed pick for everyone. Check your pool's Format settings or ask your commissioner which one applies.
The Playoffs

Does my pool keep going after Week 18?

Yes - the season runs all the way through the playoffs: Wild Card, Divisional Round, Conference Championship, and the Super Bowl. Those games count toward real standings just like any regular season week, once your commissioner has that part of the schedule synced in.

Can my commissioner run a separate playoffs-only standings?

Yes, under Pool Settings → Week Range a commissioner can set the season standings window to start at Wild Card weekend and run through the Super Bowl, so playoff performance gets its own leaderboard alongside (or instead of) the full-season one.
Point Spreads

What are point spreads for?

They're shown for reference so you can see who's favored and by how much, and - if your pool scores against the spread - they directly decide whether a pick counts as correct. A negative number means the home team is favored by that many points.

The spread I see looks different from another site.

Commissioners can set their own spread just for their pool (overriding the shared site-wide number) if they'd rather use a different line - so it's normal for one pool's spread to differ slightly from another's.
For Commissioners: Pool Admin & Settings

What's the difference between Pool Admin and Pool Settings?

Pool Admin is day-to-day running of the pool already in progress - your roster, this week's tiebreaker game, entering picks for a player who missed the deadline, weekly finishes, and your team logo. Pool Settings is the pool's configuration - scoring format, deadlines, week range, tiebreaker type, written rules, contact requirements, autopicks, and trash talk.

Can I have more than one commissioner?

Yes - promote any player to co-commissioner from your Roster. Co-commissioners have the same tools as you, with one exception: only the original pool owner can transfer ownership to someone else.

A player missed the deadline - can I still enter their picks?

Yes. Manager Picks (under Pool Admin) lets a commissioner enter or fix a player's picks even after that player's own deadline has passed, right up until the game itself goes final.

How do I message the whole pool?

Two ways: Pool Announcements for short official updates (shown right on the pick sheet sidebar), and Trash Talk for an open message board where any member can post.
Troubleshooting

I'm getting an error that says my tiebreaker is missing.

Some pools require a tiebreaker guess before any of your picks for that week will save. Scroll to the bottom of the pick sheet, fill in your guess, and save again.

I'm getting an error about Key Picks.

Key Picks pools require marking an exact number of games each week as your “key” picks before anything saves - check your pool's Written Rules for the exact count, or ask your commissioner.

My pick sheet doesn't show any games.

Either that week's schedule hasn't been added yet, or you've landed a week early or late - use the Switch Weeks bar at the top of the pick sheet to check the week before and after.
